Month of the Holy Rosary [October 1, 2017]...
Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you.
Blessed are you amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Blessed are you amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen…
October is
traditionally honoured as the Month of the Holy Rosary or we also call this Marian Month
here in our school. We are going to pray the Holy Rosary everyday starting tomorrow,
please come early. We will pray together. We will start at around 7:15a.m.
Fr. Patrick Peyton was
the famous Irish priest who travelled the world during the last
century promoting the family prayer of the rosary. His famous line was: “The family that prays together stays together“. So many
problems in family life today could have been avoided if only families prayed
more.
I know several families that
faithfully pray the rosary together on a daily basis.
The rosary is not an easy prayer
– for some (like me), at least. For some of us it takes a lot of practice, patience and
even then, we regularly find ourselves distracted and thinking of other things.
Others
find it quite easy to get used to. We
should all pray it everyday.
Devotion to
the Holy Rosary has been promoted by all of the modern popes. Pope Francis
memorably prayed it publicly most recently in the Vigil for Peace in Syria and
the World.
The Month of the Rosary would be
a good time for you to take up the regular prayer of the Holy Rosary, start
today. God bless us with the help and protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen…
