Ang Akong Pamalandong [March 22, 2018] Isaiah 49: 15-16...
Graduation Homily
Hello! Are you happy today? Are you excited?
I am very sure that all of you are happy and very excited.
Congratulations, my dear graduates!
Be grateful to your parents, to your teachers and yourselves. By doing
this, you are also grateful to God the source of love.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, let us look at what you have
achieved from a holistic point of view [Kini
nagpasabot nga tanawon nato ang inyong nakab-ot sa kinatibok-an nga panglantaw]:
Your parents will always want what is good for you. All parents will always be concerned about
the well-being of their children.
According to the book of prophet Isaiah 49: 15-16:
“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child
she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have
engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” And this
is the metaphor of God’s love and concern for our well-being.
So, it is impossible for your parents not to be concerned about your
formation, about your ability to give your lives a direction and to discern
good from evil.
Educating, however, has never been an easy task. It is a challenging
task. Parents, teachers, and everyone who has educational responsibilities are
aware of this.
As a priest assigned in FSUU Basic Education Department, Morelos
Campus for about five years right now I can say that to educate children is an
ongoing challenge with its difficulties but also with its fulfilling moments.
I believe that parents and teachers need each other. We need each
other to help our pupils and students not only to gain their skills and
competencies but also being formed into becoming good persons and compassionate
Christians. [Dakog pagtuo sa Ginoo, dakog pagtahod ug paghigugma sa ginikanan,
ug labaw sa tanan makamao mo tabang sa panginahanglan sa uban ug pag-atiman sa
kinaiyahan].
Today, we offer this mass as a thanks giving to God. Let us be
grateful to Him for his love endures forever. Be good and be instruments of
God’s love to one another.
Once again, my dear graduates Congratulations! Let us firmly believe
that someday we will become instrument of God’s love for one another. God bless you all… LUCEAT
LUX VESTRA. Nunc et Semper. Amen…
